Can you see that smiling little girl in the photo? That’s Anaya, my 8-year-old daughter. ❤️ Anaya is non-verbal autistic. She lives in Côte d’Ivoire with her mother. Although autism is not a priority in this country, her parents have overcome many obstacles to obtain a diagnosis (abroad) and put in place a care plan, including speech therapists, psychologists, child psychiatrists, a French school and a special educator, to help Anaya become independent.

Anaya’s father shares his values with many young Africans, but he recognises that his own daughter may never benefit from all that he offers to others. However, he remains determined to pursue his life mission of “contributing to the professional and personal development of others”.🙏🏼

Sometimes we suffer from never being called “Mum” or “Dad”. But I’ve realised that you have to accept that your child is simply different, support them, and above all identify what makes them happy and offer them that. This non-verbal autistic child doesn’t care at all about the image she reflects in the eyes of others. She herself manages to do what many people, even adults, are unable to achieve. 😊👌🏼

🎙️Je is sharing this personal story to encourage all those people who find themselves in similar situations, whether with an autistic child, a disabled child or going through difficulties such as divorce. I encourage you to show RESILIENCE. Life is made up of different compartments. When one isn’t working the way you want it to, do your part and focus most of your energy on the other aspects of your life.

💡It’s important to have MENTORS who open your mind, challenge you, advise you…
Mentors have let me know at times in my life that despite the difficulties encountered, it was possible to have a good professional profile and be useful to others. I received this advice from a MENTOR when I was going through a divorce. He said to me: “Wilfried, at 28, you’re living and enduring a situation that 50-year-olds can’t cope with, and they turn to alcohol and vice to drown their inner pain. I suggest that you transform this negative energy into positive energy in your work. Work, work and work, and you’ll see that once this difficult period is over, everything you’ve invested in your work will come back to you as a profit.” I followed this advice and in South Africa I was considered a machine at work 😀 And it paid off. 🙏🏼

🎙️💡 In conclusion, I’d like to remind you that every child is unique and that it’s essential to accept and support differences. I encourage you to remain strong in the face of difficulties and I affirm that nothing must stop you. 💪🏼
