Executive Master, major general management from HEC Paris 2023-2024Mr Wilfried ASSI also holds a master’s degree in marketing and finance from the ESCA (class of 2008) Félix Houphouët-Boigny Polytechnic Institute in Côte d’Ivoire and the University of Brighton in England.

He is the founder of Mentor Afro, a platform whose mission is to develop and promote the talents and excellence of Afro-descendants so that they make a positive contribution to a better world.

Wilfried himself was one of 37 young African graduates out of 30 thousand applications to be recruited by the group Unilever (TOP 1 FMCG, global talent incubator according to Harvard Business Review 2018) for its young talent programme in 2009.  He successfully completed this programme internationally and in December 2012 was appointed Regional Marketing Manager at Unilever Africa, covering 19 African countries from South Africa.

Through Mentor Afro, he aims to replicate and democratise the development model (mentoring and coaching) that he has used in multinational companies and which has proved its worth in terms of talent development.

In January 2015, he joined the FrieslandCampina group as Marketing Director for West and Central Africa. He was then recruited by theTRACE group as Director of Marketing and Digital Worldwide, as well as being responsible for the group’s transformation. He later joined the management committee set up by the State of Côte d’Ivoire to safeguard the operation of the Banque de l’Habitat de Côte d’Ivoire as Marketing and Communications Director.

In March 2021, Wilfried ASSI was Head of Strategic Initiatives at VLISCO NETHERLANDS (Vlisco, Uniwax, GTP, Woodin), where he worked to redefine the future of this multinational.

Mentoring

Our experienced mentors have a proven track record of success in demanding environments. They’ll help you achieve professional and personal fulfilment.

The Mentor Afro Mentoring programme is a relationship in which one person (the Mentor) offers help, advice and support to another person (the Mentee) in their learning, personal and professional development. Mentoring in general has proven to be one of the most effective forms of intervention to help people develop and progress in their lives and careers.

The Mentor Afro Mentoring programme has certain characteristics that make it a powerful relationship with great potential to help people learn and develop:

  • It is confidential
  • It is informal
  • It is based on the results of
  • It is measurable.

Coaching

Our experienced coaches have tangible evidence of transforming individuals. They will help you develop specific skills in the short term.

Coaching has evolved over time. Initially, it focused on the development of functional skills, aimed at improving professional performance in a specific context. However, it has gradually broadened its scope to include behavioural skills as well.

In this advanced approach, the coach does more than simply pass on technical skills. On the contrary, they encourage you to think, to question and to be creative. The ultimate aim is to maximise your personal and professional potential.

Conférences

Our conferences and talks will inspire and motivate you, and give you the chance to network with people like you who are also striving for excellence.

We speak at events we organise ourselves (Nuit de l’Afro-Excellence) or those organised by other organisations (TEDx, RIDD…).
